And I write cozy mysteries filled with small-town secrets, slow-steeped tea, and candles created especially to do your body good.
Very much like Sable Moon, I have a deep respect for and enjoyment of heritage crafts and historical mysteries. That’s why those qualities always seem to find their way into my stories. When I’m not dreaming up another puzzling crime taking place on a back Street of Briar’s Hollow, you can find me poring over old history tales or exploring new scent combinations.
I figure you love clean mysteries, non-gory stories featuring strong, independent women, plus the complication of hidden generational secrets, and a dash of deep family mountain lore.
If you enjoy those things, then you may have just found your next book for a weekend of curling-up and relaxing your mind.
My current release is titled The Lavender Lie, and it’ll bring you hours of enjoyment trying to figure out who-dunnit before candle shop owner, Sable Moon, along with Ivy, Ruthie, and her other friends get there before us.
The Lavender Lie is Book One in a targeted 12-book series that will take Sable and half the town through a deep, soul cleansing path of growth and self-awareness.
Oh, and by the way, Book Two in this series, due out in early October, will be titled The Candlewick Conspiracy. Look for it where only the best novels are sold.

P.S. Yes, I actually do live in Japan, and have been here since 1985. Back in ’85 a good friend contacted me from Tokyo, saying, “Come on over, there’s a flood of English-based editing work available.”
Well, I did go over; and I stayed.
It turned out to be a really good match. Net result, I have spent 40 years here, 25 years of it as a writer and editor of English technical documents in faraway Japan.
Interesting side-note: you remember those user manuals back in the eighties, nineties, and two-thousands? The ones that big-name Japanese makers supplied with their TVs, stereos, and other electronics goods?
Remember how sometimes the English could sound pretty strange? Well, I was the guy they finally began hiring to take out the “strange.” I was the one who cleaned up their manuals and made them sound remarkably close to native English.
So now, sometimes I’ll be deep in another cozy tale taking place right in Briar’s Hollow, on Juniper Street, maybe even right in front of Sable’s Moonlight Candle Shop. And right there, right then, you can trust that I’ll bring that same sense of precision, accuracy and clarity to every line I write.
Because these “simple little” cozy mysteries are important to you and me. Yep, just as important as those manuals and technical papers were to all those titans and giants of Japanese manufacturing.
Because you and I, we deserve no less than the titans received.
